Show and Tell: Puppy Doggie Sauce

I wasn't entirely sure that this post would be worthy of a Circle Time: The Show and Tell entry. Then I read Mel's 's post about her vision of Chewbacca appearing on her floor -- wearing Darth Vadar's cloak, no less!

I knew in an instant that I needed to bring "Puppy Doggie Sauce" to the circle.

Puppy Doggie Sauce isn't a sauce you put on puppy doggies. It is a nickname that one of our little friends uses to refer to salad dressing.

I present you with exhibit A:

puppy_doggie_sauce

Do you see it? Look hard. At the mushroom perhaps? What if I outlined it for you in yellow?

puppy_doggie_sauce_dog

Proving once again, that adults often don't "see" the detail in things when we think we know what they should be.

What's that? You found the puppy dog without my help? Excellent! But did you find the hidden dinosaur....

If I tried "Escalator Spinning"

This is an optimistic look at what would happen if I tried escalator spinning.

Do NOT try "Escalator Spinning"

('cause I haven't posted a funny video in a while.....)

I don't recommend trying "Escalator Spinning," but that doesn't mean we can't have fun watching!

Quoting Joey (and I share the same thought):

* I am not responsible for mall security pepper-spraying you or for any injuries resulting from your attempts at escalator spinning.

MLF&H: Sand toys --Marker vs Mabel's Labels

how to label bootsWhy would you use Mabel's Labels on sand toys? Aren't markers just as good for identifying plastic toys?

You be the judge. The top image is a brand new bucket, freshly labeled with a black permanent marker and a Skinny-Mini™.

how to label bootsThe bottom image is the same bucket after spending a few days in the sandbox with busy hands.

Can you see the difference?

iComLeavWe

Here's my NaComLeavMo report: I'm 15 comments behind. (With 8 days to go and 47 more comments to make!)

I think I'm glad that Mel went with the one-week-a-month plan moving forward! From Mel's site:

The new name will be IComLeavWe (since it is a week) but isn't that cool: IComLeavWe--International Comment Leaving Week but say it aloud and it sounds like "I come; leave we." So you walk into the blog alone (as an "I") and you leave after reading and commenting as a "we." Because you've made a connection with someone.

NaComLeavMo update

NaComLeavMoBrigindo over at dirt and rocks tells us that we're already halfway through NaComLeavMo.

Status report: I'm 3 comments behind.

Not bad considering I entered the challenge 9 days in! (Yes, I had a tonne of catching-up to do!)

Given that there are over 200 official participants (of which I am not, as I didn't register in time) there is no chance that I'm even going to attempt the "Iron Commenter" challenge of hitting all the participants blogs and commenting.

Still, it's nice to see I'm in good shape for a strong finish!

(And welcome to everyone who's come here via NaComLeavMo and via Mel's Show and Tell!)

NaComLeavMo: Better late than never

NaComLeavMo

I'm late at getting in the game, but this is a "Na" -style contest that even I can commit to! (Or at least I think I can.)

NaComLeavMo:

"Blog writing for a month is all good and fine; but what about the other side of blogging--the comment leaving? Comment leaving is an integral part of blogging. Without comments, blog posts are as flat as...Flat Stanley. Blogging is a conversation."

"mark somewhere on your calendar that you are going to leave 5 comments a day and return one comment a day between May 25 and June 25. In other words, you will do your normal blog reading, but you will make sure that you leave at least 5 comments a day and regardless of how many comments you usually receive, you will return at least 1 comment by going to a commentor's blog and leaving a comment there. If you do not have any comments that day (perhaps you didn't write a new post or your blog falls into a strange, other-worldly commentless abyss), simply jump to the participant's list below and pick a new blog and leave a comment."

"New people who have never commented on your blog before take precedence over usual commentors. All commenting is done on the honour system--if you tell me you left the requisite amount of comments each day, I'm going to believe you. Try to spread your comments around--it's okay to comment on the same person's blog each day, but it's better to hit new ones continuously. Please try to visit once all of the blogs listed on the participant's list at some point during the course of the month. Even if you don't leave a comment."

"if you miss a day, you can double up your comment leaving (10 comments and 2 returns) the next day. If you miss three days, triple your comment leaving when you return, so on and so on."
[from Stirrup Queens and Sperm Palace Jesters , via Dirts and Rocks]

Here goes nothing!
