of action- apply the knowledge of "construction" to reproduce characters much faster
and more accurately than the "straight ahead" or "top down" approach (I do believe I'm learning!)- did not take the time we'd like to be as careful with the assignments as we could have

No problem! I too like catching up on everyone's progress. And I really dig all the effort you seem to be putting into these lessons, it's been helpful seeing notes on the whole process. Nice work!

David - Heh. I'm getting good at copying, but I'm lousy at creating "my own" ... something that I think you're really good at!
Bardhol - I'm glad the notes are helpful to other folks. I do it mainly so that I can remember what I've learned ... it takes me so long to complete a lesson that sometimes I forget that I've learned anything!
KLangley - Welcome and thanks for the nice words! I've been down on myself about the lessons for a while. It "appears" that everyone else's hand is faster and freer while I'm still painstakingly struggling with the basics. Oh well. Slow and plodding progress is still progress, non?
Slow and steady is the best. I'd rather soak everything in slowly than plod right through the lessons. Learning directly from John is a once in a lifetime opportunity. I don't want to waste it by speeding through. Your notes show that you are analyzing and really getting the lessons. It's going to be awesome seeing the improvements when we reach the end of the road. That's what i keep telling myself when it's 3am and I feel like I'm falling behind.
