Awesomely talented illustrator

Today I bring to your attention two of my favourite pieces by Michael Renouf of Non-Stick Plans. He's a wonderfully talented illustrator who has taken it upon himself to publish a drawing a day on his blog. He's been faithfully at it since April of this year!

This first one is something to which all parents of newborns can relate:

An Earful

And this one cuts straight to the chase:

Whatever you do ...

Blink from Dr. Who Season 3 has got to be one of the finest one hour stories I've ever seen -- by any series. Original concepts. Excellent execution. Not in the least bit predictable.

"Don't blink. Blink and you're dead. Don't turn your back. Don't look away. And don't blink."

"Good Luck."

Happy (and unhappy) numbers

While watching the Dr. Who episode from season 3 titled "42" last night, David Tennant rattled off:

"Any number that reduces to one when you take the sum of the square of its digits, reduce it and continue iterating until it yields 1, is a happy number. Any number that doesn't, isn't. A happy prime is both happy and prime"
As I've never taken a recreational mathematics course, in my mind's eye all I saw was this:

Unique stick figures

I have never seen stick figures like this before. I've never considered having arms extend from a head before!
