Consider this

A friend of mine saw a bumper sticker the other day that said, "If you can't keep up, try slowing down." Sounds like it's worth a try!

Please stand by

I'm working on bringing this blog from the old Blogger template system (which I finally understood) into the new Blogger layout system which is still a bit of a mystery to me. Hopefully, I'll be finished tweaking soon.

I'm mourning the loss of my Date Navigation hack from the old template. Anyone out there know how to put the "previous home next" navigation up by the title of the post?

In the mean time, feel free to report any technical issues you experience with the new layout. I'll add them to my list of things to do!

Short term goals are important

I first heard the idea that (parents) should "aim for better, not for perfect" on an episode of CityLine which had Joe Rich of "Parenting -- The Long Journey."

I think it's a terrific adage -- unless of course, you're my neurosurgeon. Then, by all means, aim for perfect!2007_07_25_short_term_goals

But can you do it blindfolded?

Eyes wide shut over at A Hole in the Head features some Life Magazine images from 1947 where famous comic strip artists were asked to wear a blindfold and then draw their well known characters.

Go over and have a look.... it's worth the click!

That's a big ...

I remember seeing an Animation Fesitval in the early 90's that had a short film with a gag similar to this in it. I can't for the life of me remember the name of the animated short. If it comes to me, I'll be sure to put the appropriate credit for the inspiration here! (But that's a big IF!)

Creativity versus caffeine

Inspired (again) by Craig. Unfortunately, my free-hand 3-D graph rendering abilities are, shall we say, lacking so I'll leave Craig's actual suggestion as an exercise for the reader.
